Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:5-7

Well we had a very important weekend last weekend! Our church hosted a Parent Dedication where your Dad and I got to bring you in front of our family and friends and declare publicly our plans to raise you in a Christian home, our goal to help you learn to know Christ intimately, to have a relationship with Him and to become a man of God. Your grandparents, Grandy and Papa, flew in from Kansas City to see you and be a part of the ceremony. Your DD, Granny, Aunt Kobie, Uncle Tate, Rayli, Kasen, Lexi and Emmi all came from Sulphur Springs too!

Eating lunch together while you took your morning nap

You LOVED seeing your family!

Your great-grandmother loves you so much!

You and Papa are best buds!

Here we are in front of the church

Everyone together!

Of course your best bud Delilah was there for support!

We are so thankful for our church and for the opportunity to be able to bring you in front of our closest friends and family and tell everyone how much we love the Lord and will continue to strive to put Him first in our home. And how cute are you in that vest?! Love you baby!

Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with joyful shouting; Then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” Psalm 126:1-3

Hi baby boy! This is such a fun month! You're so full of laughter and joy and are such a delight! This month you turned 7 months old and you had your first Halloween party. You dressed up as Superman! We all went over to the Wiesers house and met up with Allie Beth, Luke and Delilah for some photos before heading over to the neighborhood Halloween gathering. It was lots of fun, and there were so many cute kids and costumes. You loved watching all the other kids playing. Next year, I imagine you'll be running around with them!

You recently started sitting up on your own sometime between 6-7 months and now playing and taking pictures is a lot more fun. You're eating just about everything (baby food wise), and you love all fruits... not a big fan of vegetables. We have to mix those up with other things to get you to eat those. You're grabbing at everything, so you're daddy and I are learning fast to clear everything out of your path so you don't put it in your mouth! This month you weigh about 20 lbs and you are still a champion night sleeper. You nap between 3-4 hours every day.

Things you love this month:
Fruit
Miles
Taking baths
Going on walks
Still loving the exersaucer and you love your Sofie giraffe too
Mommy, Daddy, DD & Tita
Shouting and Squealing
Laughing when your bouncing or when you get tossed in the air
All other children

Things you don't like:
Loud noises
Getting your diaper changed
Being left alone in a room

Here's some other things you've been up to this month!
Swinging in the backyard

Wearing your adorable Halloween outfit Aunt Betsy made!

Showing off your new hat

Watching Baby Signing Time

The only time you kind of smiled on family photo day

Laughing with your buddy Zanab

Cheese!

Being a monkey in your bouncy seat

Riding your bumbo chair

Happy boy!

Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

You got to attend your first TCU football game this weekend! Overall, you weren't a big fan of the loud noises and seeing all those people yelling was kind of scary... but you looked super adorable in your TCU jersey! We sat in the game for about a quarter, then left and visited your bud Delilah in the parking lot before heading home for a nap. One awesome memory was when I thought it'd be a good idea to feed you SPINACH at the tailgate... who would want that?! You immediately gagged and rubbed it all over my shirt. Had to laugh :) What was Mommy thinking?

Look at those leg rolls!! As always you were fascinated by Lilah's bow

Mom, I'm tired! Why are you doing this to me?!

So many new noises and people!
The next day you came with me to "walk" the Theta 5K with Kara & Delilah. You sported your hat that Grandpa Rod got for you this summer. We had fun together!

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:32

This fall we're studying "truth" at church, and what we Christians believe to be biblical truth.  The lessons from our study are so important, and ones that I hope you'll embrace early in life and carry with you forever. I pray that you understand and believe biblical truth, and that you boldly proclaim and defend the Word of God without fear or doubt in your heart. And I also pray that you learn, understand and appreciate the value of honesty and integrity and that you let these values guide your way of thinking and decisions.

I know I say this every month, but where has the time gone?! You're already 6 months old! And what an absolute JOY you are right now. I wish I could freeze time and enjoy you just like this because sometimes the days just seem to short to soak it all in. You are such a happy boy! It's hard to express in words how much joy and gratitude your joyful spirit brings to my heart. You smile at almost everyone and your joy is contagious. When I take you to the grocery store or we go out to run errands together, you light up a room and brighten everyone's day. This is so special to me, and I love that you're already making a positive difference for those around you. After all, true happiness comes from serving those around you. Maybe you're a baby genius and already figured out the key to true happiness :)

Your 6 month stats:
Weight: 19lbs 4oz (75%ile)
Height: 28 1/2 (>100%ile)
Head: 17 3/4 inches (95%ile)

Things you're loving this month:

  • Your sleep sack and pacifier at night
  • You're finally letting me rock you before bed! Mommy loves this!
  • Being outside
  • Swinging outside
  • You're trying so hard to crawl, and getting frustrated because you can't do it yet
  • We've been going to music class on Wednesdays, and you love hearing the music and watching the other babies in the class
  • Mommy's chewbeads necklace
  • Being thrown in the air
  • Funny faces and funny noises make you laugh
Things you don't like:
  • You're starting to not like being held by people you don't know :(
  • Being left alone in a room
  • The blender is so scary!

When I go to work, you're staying at home with Tita, your nanny. Since Luke was born just a few weeks ago, his mommy Beth is still on maternity leave and staying home from work to take care of him and Allie Beth... which means that you've had Tita here at your house all by yourself the past month. You are still so happy to see her on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I hope you continue to love your Tita, because knowing you're happy is the only way Mommy can leave you in the mornings. In a few weeks, you will be going over to Luke and Allie Beth's house some afternoons to play during the week. I hope you're a good boy over there and enjoy spending time with Tita and your friends.

This weekend, your Grandma Sandy "Grandy" came to visit you. We took you shopping for clothes on Friday because you have suddenly outgrown all of your clothes! We had to buy you size 12-18 month clothes because you're so long. So all your clothes are a little big around your neck, arms and body, but they snap at the bottom now without cutting off your circulation! It started raining on us when we were out shopping and you made it known that, once you again, you HATE to be cold.. and wet, which is understandable. Mommy forgot an umbrella so Grandy and I tried to cover you up the whole time with her jacket, which meant that both of us ended up soaked. You came to lunch with us and passed out on Mommy after such an exhausting adventure.
It's been a few months since you've seen your Grandy!

Your daddy and I also took a short trip to Crested Butte with our friends, Bryan, Lauren, Shea, Lee, Sarah & Scott. We left on Friday morning and came back Sunday evening. Your DD came and stayed with you over the weekend and you guys had fun together! Your dad and I missed you so much! We were so excited to see you when we got home after the weekend.

You also got to meet a new friend a few weeks ago! Her name is Virginia Blair and she's 3 months younger than you and she's so pretty! You loved looking at her. Of course your best bud Delilah was there too!
Your daddy also put a swing up in the backyard for you! You loved your swing right from the start. You and Tita swing together every morning and you absolutely love to be outside.
Here are some other things you've been up to lately!
Cheering on the Frogs!

Sitting in your brand new high chair

Visiting with Papi when you came to Sulphur Springs for DD's birthday

And this is how you fall asleep these days... with your legs perched up on the crib bars.
Andrew, we love you so much and we have to thank God every day for what a sweet, joyful blessing you are! We are so blessed to be your Mommy & Daddy!
